Accessorize Opening on Market Street

A new chain store is coming to Market Street, with an Accessorize shop announced to be opening soon via Linkedin.

Accessorize will be located in the former Vodafone storefront at 114 Market Street and, according to Fife Council, will be painted Oyster White.

The new store is hiring for roles that include an experienced store supervisor and entry-level roles. 

Accessorize is part of the brand Monsoon UK, which was founded in London in 1984. There are six existing Accessorize locations in Scotland, with St Andrews being the first outside Glasgow or Edinburgh. The shop carries accessories including hats, jewelry, and clothing for all ages, with prices starting at £5. 

Accessorize is often considered a fast fashion brand. ‘Fast fashion’, as defined by Britannica, refers to brands that rely on low-cost manufacturing, the use of lower-quality materials, and the frequent turnover of designs.  However, Accessorize is a founding member of the Ethical Trading Initiative, which seeks to address human rights within supply chains. 

An opening date for the shop has not yet been announced, and construction is still underway within its storefront, which is recognisable by its neon-pink window advertisement.
