Your weekly Sunday League round-up

As we emerge from the harsh Scottish winter, this semester’s Sunday League is not the only thing hotting up (touch the proverbial).
Botswana Meat Commission extended their lead at the top after a resounding 7-4 win against last season’s finalists, Strokers. Two goals from the halfway line were not enough to salvage anything for the visitors who can’t afford results like these if they are to go one better and claim the title this season.
DLL are the league’s surprise package this time around, squeaking a 1-0 win against defending champions Spartans. The newly promoted side have acclimatised to life at the top table of St Andrews amateur football impressively quickly.
The same can’t be said for fellow new-boys Real Sosobad, who picked up their first point last weekend with a high-scoring 5-5 draw against Butts Wynderers.
Sheffield Tuesday recovered quickly from their 10-0 humbling on opening day, following up last weekend’s win with another well earned point against title contenders Beavers.
Down in Division 2, JROD FC are the early frontrunners, maintaining their perfect start to the campaign with a 6-1 win against Bolton Fondlers, who are yet to register a point after their relegation from Division 1.
The sides now head into an early international break with many players tipped for call-ups to Ibiza and Gran Canaria, Ryanair flights dependent.
