Rape Crisis Scotland Chief Executive Sandy Brindley steps down
After working for 24 years at the charity, Chief Executive Sandy Brindley announced her imminent resignation from Rape Crisis Scotland. Alev Taylor has been appointed interim Chief Executive while the charity considers long-term hires. Brindley has been pivotal in combating sexual violence within the UK, spreading awareness of the issue, and contributing to legal action. Notably, she was involved in a campaign to prevent boxing champion and convicted rapist Mike Tyson from reentering the country in 2000. Bradley became tied to a controversy, however, in September 2024, when a review found that Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre had failed to provide women-only spaces for sixteen months. Bradley told the BBC: “It has been such a privilege to work alongside them to stand with survivors, and to transform how Scotland responds to sexual violence. I’m really pleased to hand over to Alev, who I know cares as much about the Rape Crisis movement and making Scotland a better place for survivors of sexual violence as I do.”
Police investigate further allegations against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor
Another woman has come forward with a sexual allegation against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, stating that Jeffrey Epstein sent her to the UK in her twenties for a sexual encounter with the former prince. Although the victim remains anonymous, she is the second woman to come forward regarding assault allegations against Mountbatten-Windsor. Investigation into these claims is currently underway, and the BBC reports a statement from Thames Valley Police, stating it was “aware of reports about a woman said to have been taken to an address in Windsor in 2010 for sexual purposes. We are assessing the information in line with our established procedures.” Public and private relations with the former Prince continue to tarnish, as documents released on Friday 30 January included pictures of him kneeling on all fours over a woman on the ground. King Charles III evicted Mountbatten-Windsor from the Royal Lodge in Windsor, relocating him overnight to Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate on Monday 2 February.
Prime Minister’s visit to Beijing strengthens UK-China relations
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer travelled to Beijing in hopes of strengthening the UK’s economic relationship with China amid the current unstable global trade system. This visit marks the first time a Prime Minister has travelled to Beijing in eight years, since Theresa May in 2018. Starmer returned having garnered partnerships across numerous sectors, including business, trade, and travel. Biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca promised to invest £11 billion in China over the next four years, while energy supplier Octopus Energy entered the Chinese market for the first time. Tariffs on Scotch whisky have been halved, which is said to generate £250 million for the British economy over the next five years. For both business and tourism purposes, UK citizens will be able to travel visa-free to China for trips under 30 days. Per a press release from GOV.UK, Starmer said: “As one of the world’s economic powerhouses, businesses have been crying out for ways to grow their footprints in China. We’ll make it easier for them to do so — including via relaxed visa rules for short-term travel — supporting them to expand abroad, all while boosting growth and jobs at home.”

My experience with https://exolix.com/pairs/usdt-to-xmr was positive overall. The site keeps things focused on the exchange itself rather than adding distractions. You send USDT, wait for confirmation, and receive XMR in your wallet. The timing depended on network conditions, but it stayed within a reasonable window. I value services that avoid unnecessary steps, and this one delivered a straightforward conversion without complications.
